Liebster Blog Award

The Liebster blog award is an award for blog with under 200 followers as a way of say 'well done/you're doing good/ keep going'.  It's awarded to bloggers by bloggers; therefore I would like to thank Elise from Without A Care & Annalise from  Pastel Bokeh for both nominating me, it's a great feeling to know people want to do this kind of thing for the community of smaller blogger.  It just makes you feel a little bit better about everything, knowing you're really being appreciated.

"When you receive the award, you post 11 random facts about yourself and answer 11 questions from the person(s) who nominated you. You pass the award onto 11 other blogs (make sure you tell them you nominated them!) and ask them 11 questions. You are not allowed to nominate the blog(s) who nominated you! My burgundy heritage land of dreams

Stole/H&M(old)//shirt/Topshop//Jumper/New Look//Trousers/Primark//Boots/Faith at Debenhams//socks/H&M(old)//bag/Primark(old)//Necklace/Topshop

I was feeling very layer-y this morning.  I fancied making a jump at the heritage trend once again with my tweed Primark trousers and keeping it simple with a white shirt.  But, knowing me, I wasn't happy with that.  I felt too boring and plain so I gave the look more of a luxe feel with the stole.  Now, incase you haven't seen all the bloggers going on about stoles and their luxe-ness I'll just simply re-iterate.  A faux fur stole is an essential piece (for me anyway) for A/W simply because its makes any outfit immediately more glamorous and elegant.  I don't think it matters what colour your stole either - it could be brown, dark brown, in this case - black, or a mix of them all.  A faux fur stole can always win over an outfit and give a more elegant feel.  When I went out I threw on my tan boyfriend coat from New Look last year just to finish off with that heritage-y British vibe.

I later found this stunning jumper in New Look for £19.99; it was everything I had wanted in a jumper.  Oversized, burgundy, comfortable, on trend.  It had to be mine.  Now it is. Lalalalala.
Believe it or not, this oversized jumper is a six 6.  For a girl size 8-10 to have an oversized jumper that is size 6 you may be suprised, I am too.  This leads to wonder; was it labelled correctly or is it actually a perfect jumper?  I can only image (had my store had an 8) that my own size would have been the epitome of perfection - jumper wise.  New Look, you've done good.

Naturally, I couldn't wait to put the jumper on over the outfit I was wearing and blog it.  So here it is.  Apologies for the non-descriptly rubbish photos, my camera wasn't in the mood apparently.  I'll be sure to have better photos soon!  Expect a post on my trip to Paris, new dresses & my LFW SS13 favourite soon.

Lots of love x

E-tail Webstores Giveaway Prizes

I have something very exciting to post about today;  I won a give away with E-tailwebstores!  The prize was that I got to choose 5 items from Motel and I'm overjoyed with my pieces!  I tried to choose pieces I knew would get a lot of wear out but I wanted a few not so safe pieces that I could try to get out of my comfort zone with.  When the pieces arrived (very quickly, might I add) I was super thrilled to find even the piece I thought I wouldn't love as much as I do (my beautiful handmade playsuit) I'm irreversibly in love with!
Oh and I'd just like to say for this post I've had to use my old camera because my new one has died, so I'm very sorry!

The first piece is this gorgeous sheer black shirt.  It has a asymmetrical dip hem but I didn't manage to get a picture of it (you'll be able to see it in the video at the end),  its really comfortable and just a nice piece that I know I will end up wearing a little too much because I'm just a little bit overly addicted to shirts and collars.  I love the studs on the collar, they're a subtle kind of stud but they still create a lot of drama.  LOVE.
The second piece would be these stunning disco pants!  I got them in the shade 'Pewter Crush' because I thought the black seemed a little too harsh and I knew I'd probably like to experiment with these pieces all the more than basic old black.  I love the way all Motel's disco pants are this 'crush' material; it gives them this amazing texture that I haven't seen on any others before.

Like I said I wasn't sure how I would feel about this playsuit - my mum convinced me into getting it because it's so darn pretty.  It's hand printed and it's utterly beautiful.  I chose it because it looked like 2 seperate pieces and I loved the idea of that as well as how floaty and comfy it looked whilst still being on trend.  I must admit, I'm not usually a playsuit kind of girl but I think I've been turned...

This one is pretty simple - a basic black biker jacket.  I've had a blue one for years but I've never had a good quality, black, fitted leather jacket before so I saw my chance and I took it!  I knew without thinking it's going to get an awful lot of wear and it will probably (hopefully) last me a good few years. Hurrah!

Finally I recieved this breathtaking dress.  When I saw it on the website I umed and ahed because I was pretty sure it would just be one of the pieces we just drooled over whilst it sat in the wardrobe and never got worn.  Yes - it might be.  But as soon as I have a night out to go on, we all know what I'll be wearing!  It's a velvet material that then has the beautiful sequins sewn onto, all over.  Depending on where you are the light bounces off them at lots of different points to make one of the most stunning dress ever!

I'm so happy with all of the pieces so thank you so so much to E-tailwebstores.
If any of you would be interested in entering any giveaways and winning free stuff go to E-tailwebstores'  Facebook page or visit their blog to see information on giveaways, bloggers, brands and enter as many giveaways and competitions as you like!

Lots of love,
Meg xx

Tweed, leather and fur

(Shirt - Topshop, Trousers - Primark, Coat - Red Herring at Debenhams, Boots - Faith at Debenhams, Lipstick - 'Beguiled' by Topshop)

Today I got dressed super fast as I woke up late for my sewing class which is quite an early start...trust me to struggle with that on a Saturday morning...!  But I wanted to be laid back and casual as I hadn't got any major plans for my day so in the rush that was me getting ready I picked out my tweed trousers which have been my go to 'safe' item recently and grabbed a clean white shirt and my coat as I could feel it was going to be chilly.  I originally grabbed my wedge trainers when I went to sewing but when I got home I re-assessed my outfit and decided that my chelsea boots looked a lot better. I didn't really have time for jewellery but I really like the simplicity of the outfit yet I think the pattern of the trousers and the coat really make it what it is.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it last week, but I have started going to sewing classes and they're so much fun!  I've always been able to sew but I just love these classes, I have been working on little projects each week like last week I made a little pin book thing and this week I have made a cushion and I started on a tote bag. Next week when my bag is done, I will get the items together and take some pictures and just to a more in-depth blog post.

I'm really starting to get into dressing for the new season now, I'm so in love with this A/W's trends!  Treated myself to another dress today with houndstooth and leather... SO perfect.  Don't think I've posted about it yet, but I also bought a tartan & leather dress from H! by Henry Holland at Debenhams and it's so so dreamy.  Thinking I might wear one of the two dresses and the coat I wore today to my Paris trip on the 18th.  Hmm, decisions!

Fashion Week Favourites: LFW Jonathan Saunders

After watching Jonathan Saunders' A/W 12 collection, I was expecting an elegant, pretty display of colours, print, embroidery and textures for Spring and Summer.  Although I was proven correct in the display of textures I was not expecting the lavish, demanding look that stomped down the runway.  Despite being famous for his prints, Saunders let them take a slight back seat and shine out lightly yet noticeable throughout his evolving collection.

The colour palette is definitely a difference compared to that of last years sweet, tangy pastel hues (not only from Saunders, we all know) and I'm loving the completely metallic, modern take on things.  The clean lines and slinky, low neck line fit feels very modern and now, something that woman want after a previous spring/summer season of cutesy prettiness the current a/w grungy goth sex appeal thing we've got going will be carried over in a more elegant feminine way yet staying very much within that sexy, innovative vibe giving woman that cutting edge glamour.

Stunning separates, minimalistic prints, heavy sequinned embellished pieces and a punky 70's flare for the collection.  This punky, disco theme means the burgundy lips, dark eyes and round sunnies fit right in.

Each look was different in its own right yet all intertwining to create a collection of memorable, avant-garde pieces.  A collection well done.

I personally really like it.  What do you think?  Is there any collections you would like a post on over the next few weeks or so?  The next post will consist of gorgeous collections for s/s13 so make sure you tell me you favourites. (None of the images are my own.)
Lots of love x
